Welcome to Arusha!

 

  • Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you’ll be warmly welcomed by our team and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha, the vibrant adventure capital of northern Tanzania.

  • Later in the day, meet your experienced guide for a pre-climb briefing and gear check to ensure you are fully prepared for the thrilling journey ahead.

  • Spend your evening enjoying a delicious dinner and resting in preparation for your East African adventure.

Road Trip to the Lake Natron Area

 

  • After breakfast, depart for Lake Natron, one of Tanzania’s most remote and extraordinary destinations.

  • This alkaline lake, nestled within the Great Rift Valley, is a vital breeding ground for thousands of flamingos, creating a surreal landscape filled with vibrant hues and wildlife.

  • Upon arrival, settle into your lodge and enjoy lunch.

  • Relax by the pool or unwind at the bar before you start your afternoon adventure.​

The Ngaresero Waterfall Excursion

 

  • Embark on a late afternoon hike to the Ngaresero Waterfall.

  • Return to the lodge for dinner and a restful evening.

Midnight Ascent of Ol Doinyo Lengai

 

  • Around midnight, depart for the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the world’s only active carbonatite volcano.

  • The trek features steep slopes and loose volcanic rock, demanding endurance and determination.

  • Upon reaching the summit at dawn, witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Great Rift Valley and Lake Natron at 2,296 meters.

Sunrise Lake Walk to Lake Natron

  • After breakfast back at the lodge, take some time to relax before starting the journey back to Arusha.

From Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

 

  • After breakfast, transfer to Momella Gate (1,500 m) in Arusha National Park.

  • Here, your guide will handle registrations and permits before you begin your trek.

  • The trail takes you through open grasslands and dense montane forests, offering frequent wildlife sightings, including giraffes, buffaloes, and colobus monkeys.

  • The gradual ascent leads to Miriakamba Hut (2,500 m), where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night.

From Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

 

  • After a nourishing breakfast, depart from Miriakamba Hut (2,500 m) and continue your trek through the dense forest and into the heather zone.

  • The trail becomes steeper as you approach Elephant Ridge, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro.

  • Arrive at Saddle Hut (3,500 m) for lunch.

Acclimatization Hike to Little Meru

The Descent Back to Miriakamba Hut

​

  • After enjoying your achievement at the summit you will begin your descent back to Saddle Hut (3,500 m) for breakfast.

  • After a brief rest, you'll continue your descent to Miriakamba Hut (2,500 m), where you’ll spend your final night on Mount Meru.

​

​​​Descending is faster, but the trail remains steep and tough, especially after the extended morning trek. Be mindful of your pace to prevent exhaustion and maintain balance.​​

The Final Descent to Momella Gate

 

  • After breakfast, embark on the final descent through the lush forest back to Momella Gate (1,500 m).

  • At the gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate as a proud memento of your successful climb.

  • Return to your accommodation in Arusha for an evening of relaxation, marking the end of your incredible Stunning Kilimanjaro adventure.
